Cool, and I like the lifelike reconstructed model of the Psittacosaurus. Looks really accurate.:) (Smile)

Now... Call me crazy, but it looks like it could stoop down on all fours and do some interesting stuff with those face horns. And its colors, very reminiscent of hippo coloration, yeah? This article is so interesting. :D

Now, if only other dinosaurs can have enough info to have top-notch reconstructions..

*looks at Tyrannosaurus, Triceratops, Stegosaurus, Apatosaurus, Diplodocus, Deinonychus, Allosaurus, Anatosaurus, Parasaurolophus, Compsognathus, and Archaeopteryx

How about this guess, the patagium may have been used to protect the eggs it sat on, or to hide them during egg laying. As far as the tail bristles, they may have been there to help the creature balance. Then again, I have always thought they looked like grass. Could it be possible that they are an artifact of fossilization that does not belong with the creature?

For me, this is the coolest study released this year. That model looks so damn sexy! And the patagium thing is really, really cool! I wonder what it used it for, probably not for slowing descent like cats do.

So Psittacosaurus now is scientifically accurate. This just got very interesting.

I guess everybody feels stupid for missing those hindlimb patagia. Now when I look at that picture of its fossil, the skin on the hindlegs seems so obvious.

Also nice that we can finally add a non-feathered dinosaur to the list of extinct dinosaurs with known colour.

I really did not see that hindlimb patagium coming.

This is really exciting!
But I still wonder why would it have quills only on such "weird" place :D I can't stop feeling those quills were on whole tail or back. He could have lost them before becoming a fossil or something. I just can't find sence in this. But ... those are dinos, creatures living looong time ago before our creatures "sence" :D we can't compare much.
Also about the brown color, did they find pigment of the brown or could this color became brown by decay and it was different color at first?

But I am not sure what words are you referencing to. If you mean I have wrongly spelled the word "sence", I didn't mean "since" I really ment "sence". Like in "It doesn't make sence to me."
