Re-imagining the Science Museum of Minnesota

Description

The Science Museum of Minnesota (smm.org) is my hometown science museum. Though not a natural history museum, per se, it has an amazing collection of dinosaur and prehistoric animal fossils/skeletons. In particular, they have an impressive collection of Morrison Formation animals. Unfortunately, the displays have been neglected for decades. The juvenile Allosaurus specimen is mounted in a vertical position with its tail dragging on the ground, and the animals are scattered about so its unclear that they all represent a single ecosystem. This piece is a re-imagining of what the display could look like with a little investment. From L - R: Camptosaurus, Diplodocus, Stegosaurus, Allosaurus.
